Applied Maths ,called mathematical physics at 3rd level, is the application of mathematical theory to the solution of practical problems.

It is an extremely useful subject in its own right but it also complements higher level maths and physics courses at L.C. and students of applied maths perform better in these subjects as a result.

It is a huge advantage to 3rd level engineering students to have studied applied maths. It is also very useful for students hoping to persue courses in Mathematics, Architecture, Physiotherapy, Physics, Meteorology, Surveying etc.

Students with good mathematical ability, in general, do very well in applied maths. It does indeed require hard work and dedication but the resulting benefits make it very worthwhile.
